Previous work includes the role of extracellular matrix properties on microvascular network formation and the role of C9ORF72 repeat expansion related pathology in development in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia using in vitro and in vivo models, as well as developing potential biomarkers and treatment options for this disease spectrum. Current interest is treatment of colorectal cancer, and the role of the enteric nervous system in carcinogenesis and metastasis.
